Jonathan Smith
Disability & Risk Planning Manager
Jonathan Smith brings nearly 30 years of experience in insurance and financial services, specializing in income protection, business continuity, and risk mitigation for business owners and high-income professionals. He is known for identifying often-overlooked financial exposures and designing practical, real-world solutions.
His expertise includes business overhead expense planning, key person protection, and disability buy/sell funding—creating integrated strategies that support continuity, liquidity, and long-term stability. Jonathan has worked extensively with advisors, institutions, and clients nationwide, including collaborations with firms such as Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Wells Fargo.
He also played a key role in building national disability platforms, including as a founding member of The Plus Group and leading the Disability Insurance Center for Capitas Financial. Jonathan is recognized for his consultative, direct approach and his ability to simplify complex strategies at the point of decision.
